Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are two individuals who have been working to make a difference in America. They are the founders of the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund, which is an organization that was started to help people belonging to minority communities in the country.
Even though America likes to see itself as a secular country, the reality of the matter is quite far from it. People who are belonging to minority communities are exploited on a daily basis. They are deprived of their fundamental rights, with no one on their side to fight for them.
A good number of these people coming from other countries into America are starting their lives afresh, and do not have many resources to fight if injustice is inflicted on them, which is why a good number of these hate crimes go unnoticed. Sometimes, the people who are inflicting this kind of injustice belong to the systems that are designed to protect the people. People belonging to the police force and even those in government positions inflict this kind of crime with little or no fear of punishment.
Even though the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund was established recently, it has gained massive support from people all over the country. People belonging to minority communities have been in need of an organization that cares about them, which is why the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund has been accepted so well into society.
The organization has helped countless people all over the country, giving them the support and resources that they need to make sure that they are always getting their basic human rights. The organization has also partnered with numerous charities and agencies to help them with their aims and goals, and so that they can reach out to people on a larger scale.
Lacey and Larkin founded the organization after they got to witness first-hand what it was like to be discriminated against. Lacey and Larkin were both writers who ran their publication. At the time of the incident, they were living in Phoenix, Arizona.
They would publish their paper every week and would cover all the events taking place in their city. At the time, Joe Arpaio was the sheriff of Maricopa County and had a reputation of being one of the toughest sheriffs in the country. He was known for a lot of people he put away. However, reports started surfacing about the people that they were arrested, claiming that they were wrongly convicted.
Further investigation showed that majority of these people who he was arrested belonged to the Hispanic community. Lacey and Larkin decided to write about this in their newspaper and were taken from their homes the very next day and put into holding cells under the control of Joe Arpaio.
They were kept for a period of forty-eight hours without being told what they were in for, even though it was clear to them. Since there was no warrant for their arrests, Lacey and Larkin decided to sue Arpaio, and later received a settlement which they used to form the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund.
